Position: Senior Financial Analyst

Primary Location: hybrid, Toronto Office and home office

Reports to: Manager - Sustainability Reporting

Compensation: $90-100,000.00 + bonus + benefits. (salaried, exempt)

The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Specific salary details can be discussed during the hiring process. Posted compensation reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives.

About This Role and You

The purpose of the Senior Financial Analyst role is mainly to support the financial audit throughout the year and accounting initiatives by providing technical accounting expertise, detailed financial analysis, and coordination support to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant financial reporting and audit. The role exists to strengthen audit execution and accounting projects by assisting with audit requests, preparing supporting schedules, performing analyses and reconciliations, resolving accounting issues, and supporting the implementation of accounting standards and process improvements, while partnering closely with Accounting, Finance, and external auditors.

  • Audit experience with large size accounting firm or within public company environment
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Audit Support & Execution (40%)
  • Lead and support external financial audit including audit walkthroughs, interim audits, and quarterly reviews by preparing complex audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate and respond to auditor inquiries, perform detailed analyses and support the resolution of audit findings to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant audit outcomes

Accounting Projects & Technical Support (40%)
  • Support accounting-related initiatives such as new IFRS accounting standard implementations (IFRS 18), policy updates, transaction reviews, and special accounting analyses.
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare documentation to support accounting positions, estimates, and judgments.

Financial Analysis, Controls & Stakeholder Support (20%)
  • Prepare and review complex account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting calculations
  • Support internal controls over financial reporting, including documentation and remediation of control gaps
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements within audit processes
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to Accounting, Finance, and audit stakeholders
