The Sr. Fabrication Lead fabricates the orthoses and prostheses to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics and workmanship. The Sr. Fabrication Lead is expected to keep abreast of all new fabricating techniques and must be familiar with the properties of pertinent materials and must be skilled in the use of appropriate equipment.

 

Schedule: 10am - 6:30pm M-F

Your Impact
  • Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
  • Perform ordering, receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain 5s to ensure for a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
  • Train new employees and assist management with developing employees’ skills.
  • Assess workload, direct tasks and delegate within the department.
Minimum Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 4 years’ of related experience OR
  • Without a high school diploma/GED, 6 years’ experience working within O&P environments that include: machinery, tools, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. OR
  • A technical degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics from an accredited school and 7 years’ related experience.
Additional Success Factors
  • Substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to specifications.
  • Ability to independently complete all General Orthotic or Prosthetic devices from start to finish from provided instructions with more than two different types of componentry (Expert in either Orthotics or Prosthetic Devices).
  • As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Be a facilitator of continuous improvement by helping improve process within their team’s workflows. (i.e. suggest new tools, safety measures, improve orders and helps sustain 5s.)
  • Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understand implications of the work and makes recommendations for solutions. Communicates daily with Sr Supervisor on teams’ effectiveness and needs.
  • Ability to be problem solve. Adept atidentifying problems, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective solutions quickly.
  • Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
  • Effective organizational, time management and planning skills.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others. Ability to lead by example showing Hanger values as a guide.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to perform tasks as indicated on following Skills Matrix.
  • Ability to triage work instructions and work orders to communicate to the clinician for corrections, while maintaining focus on the patient.
  • Understanding quality and implementing quality and safety standards
  • Ability to work on complex assignments.
  • Expert in either Orthotics or Prosthetic Devices.
  • Trains new employees when needed in areas of expertise.
  • Works independently to develop methods and procedures for new assignments and communicates them effectively to the Sr. Supervisor.

Pay range of $35.89- $44.47/hour bonus+ benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
