What you’ll be doing...

The Access Engineering & Optimization Team improves the network to maximize efficiencies through strategic initiatives that drive 3rd party cost reduction. This Sr. Engineer will advise, and in some instances lead, end-to-end design strategy and processes for Customer Switched Ethernet Grooms.In this role, you will also work closely with cross-functional teams (Access & Network Planning, IT, and VZB Operations) to reduce cycle times and prioritize opportunities for acceleration. This Sr. Engineer will be responsible for order entry and design, Telco coordination efforts, all while minimizing customer impacts. They will use Verizon Business systems to track, coordinate, and complete all groom and any related disconnect efforts. Acting as a trusted partner to leadership, you will also be utilizing your knowledge of data analytics and AI to build automated tools, track progress, and create advanced reporting solutions that highlight operational readiness, resolve bottlenecks, and track cost-saving metrics.

  • Providing technical support by analyzing circuit engineering data/routing, identifying new engineering paths as needed, and developing/implementing circuit engineering rearrangements.

  • Coordinating all scheduled activities in accordance with operational procedures.

  • Forecast, track, and provide reporting updates on a weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis.

  • Championing technical best practices and mentor engineers on complex circuit architecture.

  • Maintaining and updating process documentation workflows.

  • Leading team members to meet schedules and resolve problems.

  • Collaborating closely with Planning groups, Implementation teams, project managers, field technicians, and other Verizon services personnel.

  • Leading small, focused groups to resolve production issues.

  • Leading and driving production efficiencies by leveraging AI, IT enhancements, and BOT opportunities.

  • Assisting in identifying manual bottlenecks in legacy Switched Ethernet migrations and develop AI-driven architecture and/or BOT-based solutions to resolve them.

What we’re looking for...

You are a strategic thinker and an agile leader who excels at managing complex, data-driven projects from the ground up. You lead with care and candor to champion simplicity and execute strategic outcomes. Your strong background in data analytics allows you to transform complex engineering data into actionable insights and present them clearly to executive leadership. You are comfortable navigating network environments and are highly passionate about leveraging AI and automation to create smarter, more efficient ways of working.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Experience that exhibits a diverse range of Telco and/or Network related knowledge.

  • Experience working in a Transport engineering role or in a closely adjacent technical capacity.

  • Experience with decommissioning projects for cost savings efforts

  • Customer Ethernet Install experience and process flow knowledge.

  • Possess strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Experience with AI tools and technologies

  • Ability to effectively interact at all employment levels within the organization.

  • Ability to produce executive level reports/presentations and effectively communicate their significance.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Six or more years network experience, with experience specific to circuit design and migrations in the former Verizon Business Platforms.

  • Broad range of skills within the engineering discipline to effectively perform routine and highly visible/complex projects related to circuit migrations.

  • Strong knowledge with Network principles, theories, concepts and technologies; as well as an applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices as they relate to circuit migrations.

  • Extensive experience navigating Verizon inventory and provisioning systems such as: F&E, BGW, PC/NETPRO, Kirke, COMS, eASR-TPVM, KIRKE, OPTIMA, ETMS, TCOMS, SNM, VDDS, IPSM, OSQAR, WFM, Canvas, and Optima to audit and optimize circuit routing.

  • Acts independently and exercises sound judgment within generally defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods or techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite Products (GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets, GoogleSlides, etc.)

  • Proficiency in SQL for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing complex datasets.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $87,000.00 - $157,000.00.
