What you'll be doing...You will drive profitable growth and business innovation by applying cutting-edge machine learning techniques and AI technology to Verizon Business Group initiatives. In this role, you will lead data science projects that optimize product personalization, marketing effectiveness, channel strategy, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
At Verizon, we are on a multi-year journey to industrialize our data science and AI capabilities-fueling decisions and processes across our $130B+ enterprise. With our nationwide 5G leadership, you will help design and scale AI solutions capable of executing trillions of real-time predictions.
- Deliver End-to-End Solutions: Independently design, build, and deploy innovative Data Science, Generative AI, and Agentic AI projects to solve complex business problems.
- Architect & Optimize Models: Lead the design, development, and validation of AI/ML models to ensure peak accuracy and efficiency.
- Deploy & Monitor Production Pipelines: Deploy models in both real-time and batch processing environments while systematically tracking performance and drift.
- Drive Business Partnership: Engage directly with key business stakeholders to align AI initiatives with strategic business goals and identify new opportunities.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert: Provide technical leadership in predictive modeling, machine learning, and emerging AI technologies across cross-functional teams.
- Research & Innovate: Actively research, test, and adopt new AI theories, methodologies, and frameworks to keep Verizon at the forefront of AI innovation.
What we're looking for... You bring strong analytical instincts and a passion for solving business challenges with AI. You excel at working independently, communicating insights clearly to leadership, and collaborating with global, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
You'll need to have:
- Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Four or more years of hands-on experience in machine learning, deep learning, and end-to-end data science project delivery.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and database management.
- Working knowledge of NLP, LLMs, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, or Agentic AI frameworks.
- Experience working in cloud computing environments (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Strong foundational quantitative skills in math, statistics, or related fields.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or Economics).
- Experience with large-scale data management using relational databases, Hadoop, NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and Graph databases.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights for leadership.

Where you'll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $101,000.00 - $194,000.00.
The annual salary range for the New York location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $111,500.00 - $194,000.00.
