Full Job Description
At eBay, we believe great products don't just happen they're built with passion, collaboration, and a desire to make things better. That's where the Core Product Excellence team comes in. Our mission is to continuously improve how we build and launch products that buyers and sellers around the world love. We focus on refining every step of the product development lifecycle, streamlining processes, and accelerating delivery to drive exceptional customer satisfaction at scale.
As a Sr. Engineering Program Manager you will lead one or more sophisticated, end-to-end product and engineering programs that sit at the heart of how eBay ships high-quality experiences. You will be the primary point of contact for project execution, bringing together engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to ensure readiness, drive velocity, and improve outcomes. This role blends deep technical understanding, structured execution, and leadership in ambiguous environments to influence technical decisions and guide teams through the full software development lifecycle ultimately shaping how great products come to life at eBay.

What you will accomplish:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-team software programs defining clear plans, aligning on scope, and ensuring on-time, high-quality releases that support eBay's product and platform strategies.
  • Establish and maintain a single source of truth for execution (roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and risks), enabling transparent decision-making for engineering, product, and leadership partners.
  • Drive rigorous E2E testing and bug triage workflows so that releases meet quality and reliability expectations, while continuously improving how issues are identified, prioritized, and resolved.
  • Own program communication by providing concise, data-driven status updates, surfacing risks and trade-offs early, and facilitating cross-functional decisions that keep teams aligned in evolving environments.
  • Advance technical excellence by guiding architectural and design discussions, helping teams make informed trade-offs around scalability, reliability, and system design across distributed platforms and APIs.
  • Improve how work gets done by refining agile and program management practices, implementing automation and tracking tools, and partnering with PPMs/DPMs to increase delivery velocity and predictability over time.

What you will bring:
  • 7+ years working directly with engineering teams on software development initiatives and 5+ years in technical program or product management leading large-scale, cross-functional programs.
  • Hands-on software development background in at least one language (e.g., Java, C#, C, C++, Kotlin, TypeScript) and the ability to engage deeply in technical discussions on system architecture, distributed systems, and platform engineering.
  • Strong expertise with modern API and integration practices, including REST and/or GraphQL, enterprise integration patterns, API gateways, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and API keys.
  • Proven experience leading Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), including crafting epics and user stories, managing backlogs and release plans, and using tools like JIRA and Confluence to drive transparency and accountability.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices, cloud and microservices-based architectures, and experience leveraging automation to improve reliability, scalability, and program execution efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, build consensus across diverse teams, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners, and navigate ambiguity while keeping teams focused on outcomes and customer impact.
