Full Job Description
About the Team:

The Search, Recommendations & Product Knowledge (SRPK) team builds the systems that power buyer discovery across eBay. We combine core shopping experiences with the data and intelligence behind them to better understand products, buyer intent, and context-and deliver more relevant, intuitive, and personalized experiences at scale.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will lead complex, cross-functional projects spanning SRPK. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Analytics to shape direction, align stakeholders, and drive execution on high-priority initiatives.

This is a senior IC role for someone who can do more than execute. We're looking for a strategic thought partner who can bring clarity to ambiguity, set priorities across competing work, and guide sound tradeoffs in a large-scale, engineering-heavy environment.

What you'll do
  • Lead large, cross-functional programs across Search, Recommendations, and Product Knowledge from concept through launch.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to shape roadmaps, clarify tradeoffs, and align work to customer and business priorities.
  • Focus teams on the highest-value work by driving prioritization as business needs, timing, or capacity shifts.
  • Drive execution across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Design, Analytics, and partner teams to manage dependencies, surface risks, and maintain momentum.
  • Drive ambiguous problems toward clear decisions, actionable plans, and strong execution rhythms.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve scalability, reliability, and operational readiness across the systems behind buyer discovery.
  • Define and track success metrics across customer experience, adoption, quality, and operational performance.

What you'll bring
  • 8-10+ years of technical program management experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs end to end.
  • A strong track record of driving large programs or portfolios across multiple teams, systems, and planning cycles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influence skills, including the ability to align senior partners and navigate competing priorities without direct authority.
  • Strong prioritization, planning, dependency management, and risk management skills.
  • The ability to move comfortably between technical discussions with engineers and strategic conversations with cross-functional leaders.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing products and/or platform capabilities in search, recommendations, personalization, knowledge systems, catalog, data, ML, or similarly complex technical domains.
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a calm, structured approach in ambiguous environments.

It'd be amazing if you have:
  • Experience in ecommerce, marketplace, or discovery-driven product environments.
  • Familiarity with ranking, relevance, personalization, entities, taxonomies, schemas, or related intelligent systems concepts.
  • Experience improving execution through planning cadences, dashboards, or tools such as Airtable or Claude Code.
