ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Specialist on Power, and Energy and Chemical Industry Projects.
- Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
- Specify, evaluate bids, and perform vendor document review for process equipment such as pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, and heat exchangers.
- Perform calculations for equipment and piping.
- Specify Materials for process and utility piping services.
- Attend client, vendor, and internal team project meetings.
- Perform field surveys to collect required field data and assist with interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications in the field.
- Capable of supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of a small staff of engineers to accomplish objectives.
- Mentors younger engineers, leading by example. Supports department development initiatives and standards creation/review/update.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Estimate resource requirements of new project proposals in support of business development.
- Other duties, as assigned.
QualificationsREQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- 15+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Power, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
- Experience applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to ensure compliance with design basis, and safety and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required for coordination with internal team members as well as Vendors and Clients.
- Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
- Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement and career growth.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Professional Engineers License
Salary/Pay Rate:In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act, the expected salary range for this Illinois position,
Senior Engineer Mechanical, is between $148,000.00 and $211,827.20 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
