This is a great opportunity to get involved with exciting and challenging EPC and Engineering Services Projects within various industries for career development and growth.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Specialist on Power, and Energy and Chemical Industry Projects.
  • Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
  • Specify, evaluate bids, and perform vendor document review for process equipment such as pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, and heat exchangers.
  • Perform calculations for equipment and piping.
  • Specify Materials for process and utility piping services.
  • Attend client, vendor, and internal team project meetings.
  • Perform field surveys to collect required field data and assist with interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications in the field.
  • Capable of supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of a small staff of engineers to accomplish objectives.
  • Mentors younger engineers, leading by example. Supports department development initiatives and standards creation/review/update.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Estimate resource requirements of new project proposals in support of business development.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 15+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Power, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
  • Experience applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to ensure compliance with design basis, and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required for coordination with internal team members as well as Vendors and Clients.
  • Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
  • Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
  • Strong desire for continuous improvement and career growth.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional Engineers License


Salary/Pay Rate:

In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act, the expected salary range for this Illinois position, Senior Engineer Mechanical, is between $148,000.00 and $211,827.20 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.

This position, Senior Engineer Mechanical, is eligible for participation in Zachry's Total Employee Rewards Program, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and other ancillary benefits.
