Full Job Description
Overall Scope:

This position is for a Senior Electronics Engineer in the field of embedded electronic systems, with a focus on electronic hardware design, system integration, and component development for our dispenser products. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality hardware solutions, contributing to system architecture decisions, and supporting product development across the full lifecycle. While primarily a technical role, the position requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence design decisions and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and review electronic hardware systems, including schematics, component selection, and validation.
• Apply best practices in PCB design/layout (signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, manufacturability), collaborating with layout engineers as needed.
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and ensure proper hardware integration within the overall system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing) to align requirements and ensure successful product integration.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex issues involving hardware, firmware, and system interactions.
• Support design verification (DV), validation, and qualification activities at component, board, and system levels.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and industry standards (e.g., PCI, EMC, UL).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing, including issue resolution and design improvements.
• Contribute to the definition and improvement of engineering processes, tools, and design guidelines.

Experience/Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
• Strong knowledge of embedded hardware architectures, microcontrollers, and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with schematic design, debugging, and hardware validation.
• Solid understanding of PCB design principles (SI/PI, EMC/EMI, grounding, layout constraints).
• Experience working in cross-functional product development environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with electro-mechanical integration (e.g., SolidWorks or similar tools).
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and USB.
• Experience with microcontroller programming (C) for debugging or validation purposes.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM/DFX).
• Experience with compliance and certification processes (PCI, EMI/EMC, safety).
• Experience in regulated or harsh environments (e.g., fuel dispensers, EV chargers, industrial systems).
