Job DescriptionThe designer will be responsible for design of RF front-end SiP/Module within the context of multi-chip, multi-technology wireless solutions. In this Module Design Team, you will be participating in developing cutting-edge, state-of-the-art PA, RF switches, LNAs and front-end modules for IoT applications to enable the industry transformation to next generation super data highway.
Responsibilities- Design, verify, and productize RF SiP/Module solutions
- Module Level floor planning, design and tape-out schedule management
- Work closely with a team of EM and IC Design Engineers, Layout Engineers, Lab Technicians, Validation/Optimization Engineers, Test Engineers and Package Engineers to tackle complex RF front end issues
- Analysis of design trade-offs in cost, risk, and performance
- Guide activities across multiple functions, such as layout, verification, test, and manufacturing
Required Experience and Skills- BS degree and 8+ years of experience is required. MS and 6+ years or PhD and 3+ years of experience preferred in the area of RFIC design.
- Deep understanding of RF theories and concepts such as S-parameters, transmission lines, matching circuits, couplers, dividers, bias circuits, etc.
- You should have deep understanding of all or many of the following:
- Experience in design, analysis and implementation of passive structures, including matching networks, couplers, baluns, etc.
- Experience in design, analysis and implementation of high efficiency, wideband linear PAs, LNAs, and RF switches.
- Solid understanding of RF amplifier stability, matching, and bias design considerations.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies for analog and RF applications, including SOI, SiGe BiCMOS, CMOS and etc.
- Proficient using design tools such as HFSS, Keysight ADS, Cadence ADE, EMX, ADS Momentum, etc.
- Understanding and insight into RF packaging and modeling.
- Solid Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team and deliver according to product requirements and schedule.
Desired Experience and SkillsThe following qualifications are desirables, but not required:
- Comprehensive knowledge of RF and wireless front-end components, systems and various transceiver architectures.
- Experienced in RF test equipment and measurements
- Solid knowledge of on chip ESD protection strategies.
The typical total targeted cash range for this role is currently CAD $105,160 - $136,785 per year. Starting compensation will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
