The Sr. Distribution Operations Manager leads the overall logistical movement and control of materials, including inbound, outbound, inter-plant, production supply, inventory management, warehouse operations and transportation. Responsible for expense control and warehouse operational KPI's. Serves as process owner and subject matter expert for warehouse/shipping and Inventory.
Details:
Manages the day-to-day execution of the materials movement process between the warehouse and the production floor and Finished Goods shipping to customers and Regions.
Lead key Optimization and Continuous Improvement projects for the warehouse using sound analytical methods, sophisticated software skills, change management, and communication tools to effectively operate a warehouse that will yield the highest productivity and efficiency.
Continue to drive the discussion on the use of new automated warehouse technologies such as VLM/ASRS and automated material delivery.
Partner with Global Supply Chain/Purchasing to continue the formulation of the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) that is inclusive of purchasing, planning, warehousing, and control of materials from the receipt of forecasting of replenishment needs to the delivery of finished products to finished goods warehouses and distribution, based on this deliverable ensure planning and induction for warehouse capacity in Satellite DC.
Manage transactional integrity and establish controls to ensure Waters operates at the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics and minimized supply chain risk.
Ensure strategies, policies, procedures, and overall teams are in place to optimize the value of the entire function in creating a world class warehousing group in support of the Global Supply Chain.
Leads key projects or initiatives supporting process transformation, inventory optimization, Continuous Improvement, and other warehouse management initiatives.
Responsible for managing a team of shipping/warehouse associates, including training, compliance, and performance measurement. Hire, train, develop, and motivate warehouse personnel to follow procedures, meet high quality standards, support production schedules, and achieve operations department and productivity goals. Evaluate and provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance feedback to the warehouse team.
Determine warehousing productivity standards for processes and labor.
Execution of the warehouse strategy to support Key Business Objectives.
Responsible for the inventory control program and financial compliance.
Collaborates cross functionally to identify vulnerabilities and to close operational gaps.
Ensure a high level of engagement with cross-functional teams within the manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain teams.
Involved in periodically updating and improving procedures, instructions, and tools related to warehousing activity improvement.
Complies with all GMP, regulatory and ISO guidelines, including company policies and departmental procedures.
Perform other duties as required by the site leadership.
Skills:
Experienced managing a team of warehouse/logistics associates.
Interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.
Experience in SAP or related warehouse management, Inventory control & sound knowledge in Data Analytics tool (Eg: Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
Experience with continuous improvement projects.
Experience with Excel and Microsoft office suite.
Qualifications and Experience:
BA/BS degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
8-10 years of experience in Logistics management
Advanced experience in SAP and warehouse management systems
Experience in Medical Device or regulated industry
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Experience operating in a lean warehouse environment.
Skills in developing and executing inventory control strategies.
Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems and shipping software.
Experience implementing warehouse management or barcoding systems.
