Full Job Description
Job Summary:

KDM Engineering is searching for a Sr. Distribution Designer to perform detailed review and training of overhead and /or underground distribution utility projects. A demonstrated ability to lead teams of talented engineers, drive excellence and quality, and possibly mentor younger staff is required.
  • Independently review construction documents related to overhead, underground facilities associated with electric distribution systems and telecommunication networks and infrastructure following client standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.
  • Assist engineers to obtain appropriate permissions and approvals for new utility infrastructure to be installed.
  • Assist engineer apply the client's standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures or appropriate industry standards in reviewing preparing layouts of overhead and/or underground electric distribution facilities and telecommunication facilities.
  • Assist engineer prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials and any other required documents and reports for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Utilize client and Company information systems to track progress of engineers.
  • QA QC Drawing sets
  • Lead group trainings for entry level engineers and designers
  • Perform duties as assigned.

Required experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 10 years' experience in power design and specification or equivalent experience.
  • Capable of training other personnel in design and specification work
  • Have a working knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in electric distribution design.
  • Ability to handle contacts with clients and other agencies in connection with project design responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
