Job Summary
The Senior Director, Talent Acquisition is a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing the organization's enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy. This role oversees all aspects of recruitment and workforce planning to foster a culture of continuous growth and high performance. The Senior Director partners closely with executive leadership, HR functions, and business leaders to deliver innovative, data-driven hiring solutions that enhance organizational performance and employee experience. This leader also ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, drives continuous process improvement through technology and analytics, and fosters a high-performing, inclusive talent acquisition function that supports the organization's long-term growth and strategic priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute a holistic/comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals and growth plans.
  • Establish and monitor key recruitment metrics to measure effectiveness while driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide reporting and analytics for senior leadership regarding key metrics and initiatives.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices, recruitment technologies and market trends.
  • Ensure all TA programs, policies and procedures comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Enhance and evolve the company's employer brand to position Flagstar as an employer of choice.
  • Serve as a key member of the HR leadership team, contributing to the overall HR strategy as directed by CHRO and executive leadership team.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performance TA team focused on promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement while incorporating the Flagstar STAR values.
  • Lead transformation from an HR perspective by driving change initiatives, optimizing processes, leveraging technology and partnering across the organization to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of talent acquisition.
  • Risk and Compliance - Proactively works to resolve areas of identified or emerging risk by ongoing audit of internal TA processes, tracking of issues and amending internal guidelines as needed. Report risk findings or areas of emerging risk to HR 1LOD risk partners to find agreeable solutions to mitigating ongoing risk.
  • Implement new processes where applicable and provide education and training within TA and key stakeholders ensuring awareness and compliance.


ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance training. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:
  • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).
  • Minimum experience required: 12+ Years of leadership experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources, preferably within the banking industry.
  • 10+ years managing or leading a team.
  • Experience leading HR modernization initiatives with expertise in HR Systems, including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Workday.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent)


Job Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of various recruitment methodologies, sourcing and employer branding best practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels across an organization.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful talent acquisition strategies within an organization.
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to assess program outcomes and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating. clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
