Full Job Description
Cohesity's Security portfolio turns the backup estate into an active line of cyber defense: FortKnox (immutable, air-gapped cyber vaulting), Threat Defense (AI-powered threat detection), Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Data Classification, and Identity Resilience (Active Directory and Entra ID recovery). This is a full portfolio, not a single product, and building the technical team that can sell all of it - together, to the same accounts, over multiple years - is the reason this role exists.

This is a founding leadership seat on a brand-new Security organization: the individual-contributor Solutions Architect roles exist, but the technical leadership function that turns strong individual hires into a repeatable, coachable, globally consistent practice does not. You're building that function from the current roster forward - hiring the bench, defining how the team engages, and establishing yourself as the technical partner to the VP of Security Sales.

You lead the global Security Solutions Architecture team. The Sr. Director of Security Sales owns the commercial number; you own the technical strategy, methodology, and team that make that number repeatable and defensible in front of the most sophisticated technical buyers, personally engaging on the largest and highest-risk opportunities and representing the field's technical experience back into Product and Engineering.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
  • Build and lead a global team of Security Solution Architect across AMER, EMEA, and APJ - hire, ramp, coach, and retain the bench.
  • Own the technical methodology and playbook for the Security motion, and personally engage on the largest, most strategic, or highest-risk opportunities.
  • Partner with the VP of Security Sales as technical counterpart, with joint accountability for the security number.
  • Own Voice of the Customer, the Security Virtual Team, and the Security Customer Advisory Board - turning field signal into product input and roadmap into field-ready positioning.
  • Build the technical career path, enablement program, and resource planning (POC/pilot capacity, win-rate tracking, headcount) for the team.
  • Manage executive-level partner relationships and represent Security technical strategy in company-wide planning.

WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • 8+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, or technical consulting in enterprise infrastructure, security, or data protection, including 2+ years leading a technical architect or sales-engineering team.
  • A track record building a technical architect function at an early stage - hiring, ramp, and methodology - not just inheriting an already-mature team.
  • Deep fluency in cyber resilience, credible at the CISO and board level, and experience influencing product roadmap from the field.
  • Experience operating as the technical peer to a sales leader - joint accountability for a number without direct commercial ownership of it.
  • Proven people leadership, and strong presence in front of company leadership, customers, and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
  • Professional English language proficiency for customer and internal communication.
  • Travel as required

WE ARE EXTRA EXCITED IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Experience leading a globally distributed technical team, and building a technical function inside a newly formed specialist or overlay sales organization.
  • Background in backup, data protection, or cyber-resilience markets, with existing executive relationships with CISOs or security leaders at Fortune 500 enterprises.

HOW YOU WILL BE MEASURED

  • Team-wide technical win rate, POC conversion, and influenced revenue / pipeline progression globally.
  • Time-to-productivity, retention, and engagement of the Solutions Architecture team.
  • Quality and adoption of the methodology and enablement you build, and partnership health with the VP of Security Sales and Product / Engineering.
  • Executive engagement outcomes, and the impact of Voice of the Customer input and the Security Virtual Team / Advisory Board you own.
