Job Summary

The Senior Director of Product Marketing & Portfolio Strategy serves as the strategic lead for SHI's AI, Data Center, Networking, End User Computing, and Modern Workplace marketing portfolio. Reporting directly to the Vice President, AI & Data Center Marketing, this role is responsible for portfolio definition, product marketing strategy, market intelligence, cross-pillar planning, positioning, go-to-market readiness, event strategy, demonstration strategy, and executive-level portfolio planning.

This leader oversees the Data Center Solutions Marketing Manager, Networking Solutions Marketing Manager, and Market Insights Analyst functions while aligning SHI's solutions portfolio to market opportunities, customer needs, business objectives, partner ecosystems, and growth priorities.

Working across multiple technology domains, the Senior Director helps determine what SHI brings to market, how solution areas connect to customer outcomes, where future growth opportunities exist, how strategic partner solutions are packaged, and how marketing investments support measurable business impact.

This role serves as a senior strategic partner to executive leadership by aligning business unit priorities, market intelligence, customer needs, partner opportunities, event strategy, demonstration strategy, sales enablement, and go-to-market execution into a cohesive portfolio strategy.

The ideal candidate combines deep product marketing expertise with strong strategic planning, executive communication, stakeholder management, portfolio decision-making, business acumen, and leadership capabilities.

Role Description

Portfolio Definition & Solution Strategy
  • Define and evolve SHI's portfolio structure, solution architecture, and customer outcome framework across priority technology domains.
  • Drive the transition from service-led offerings to outcome-based solution portfolios that are easier for customers to understand and easier for sellers to position.
  • Establish portfolio roadmaps aligned with business priorities, market opportunities, customer demand, and partner strategy.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities, growth markets, adjacent solution areas, and new categories that can expand SHI's market relevance.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to evaluate strategic opportunities, portfolio priorities, and investment trade-offs.
  • Ensure cross-pillar solutions are aligned around customer outcomes rather than internal organizational structures.

Portfolio Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and maintain portfolio-level product marketing strategies across SHI's technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business priorities, market opportunities, and growth objectives.
  • Support annual planning, quarterly business reviews, portfolio assessments, executive planning activities, and budget recommendations.
  • Establish portfolio priorities and recommendations that align resources, investments, and go-to-market efforts with business goals.
  • Translate market dynamics, customer needs, business objectives, and partner priorities into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Create portfolio planning frameworks that help leadership determine investment priorities, funding allocations, and initiative sequencing.

Product Marketing, Positioning & Messaging
  • Establish and maintain messaging frameworks, value propositions, and solution narratives that align offerings across business units into cohesive, customer-focused strategies.
  • Develop positioning and messaging architectures that support campaigns, sales motions, executive communications, events, digital experiences, and customer engagement.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on market opportunities, customer needs, competitive trends, and portfolio growth initiatives.
  • Guide the development of sales enablement strategies, competitive positioning, battlecards, solution briefs, launch readiness materials, and executive-level narratives.
  • Ensure product marketing deliverables are consistent, differentiated, commercially relevant, and aligned with SHI's broader portfolio strategy.

Cross-Pillar Alignment & Business Partnership
  • Partner with Product Marketing Managers, business unit leaders, sales leadership, services teams, partner teams, and executive stakeholders to align priorities and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and coordination across major launches, campaigns, portfolio initiatives, executive engagements, customer-facing programs, and strategic field activities.
  • Drive alignment between product marketing, campaigns, communications, partner marketing, sales, events, services, and technical teams to improve execution and consistency.
  • Identify areas of overlap, fragmentation, or underinvestment across marketing activities and recommend practical improvements.
  • Ensure portfolio strategies support both customer needs and SHI's broader business objectives.

Market Intelligence, Portfolio Insights & Growth
  • Build and lead the market insights capability supporting the AI & Data Center Marketing organization.
  • Leverage market insights, customer feedback, analyst research, competitive intelligence, partner intelligence, and business performance data to support strategic planning and prioritization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor ecosystems, market trends, startup activity, competitive shifts, and partnership opportunities that may influence SHI's portfolio strategy.
  • Develop executive-ready market assessments, strategic recommendations, opportunity analyses, and portfolio growth strategies.
  • Ensure insights actively inform planning, positioning, campaigns, events, demonstrations, sales enablement, and investment decisions.

Executive Events, Demonstration Strategy & Customer Experience
  • Define portfolio-level event messaging, content strategy, and customer narratives for major customer events, executive briefings, roadshows, webinars, field events, partner events, and strategic engagements.
  • Lead cross-functional planning for event content, session themes, presentation frameworks, speaker preparation, customer outcomes, and follow-up strategies.
  • Own demonstration strategy for priority solutions, ensuring SHI's capabilities are effectively showcased through compelling, reusable customer-facing examples.
  • Partner with technical teams, solution architects, services leaders, business units, and strategic partners to develop scalable demonstrations supporting events, briefings, campaigns, and sales engagements.
  • Establish standards for demo messaging, readiness, governance, and portfolio-wide adoption.
