Senior Director Payments Product Go to Market
The Sr. Director of Payments Products, sets and drives overall product go to market strategy, execution and commercialization across all global Payments products. Responsible for vision and advancement of definition and management of product related go-to-market activities from strategy to market readiness and launch in a fast paced, highly cross functional environment. Work with cross-functional teams to set business commercialization strategies for supported products and ensure smooth commercialization of payments products. Set strategy, continuously improve and automate channels and platforms for product documentation and training in a risk-controlled environment. Leads an organization of go to market teams responsible for the creation of appropriate product toolkits, collateral and training for Sales and end customers to achieve launch goals and delivering optimal user experiences.
Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
Role Responsibilities:
Develops strategic go to market strategies for a broad range of critical products with both domestic and international availability. Owns go to market strategies and contributes to the development of Payments business goals. Responsible for prioritization of the product go to market roadmaps while balancing trade-offs for effective market delivery, in support of market needs and business goals. Drives customer value through well documented and communicated products. Collaborates internally within Payments to ensure products are aligned with and support overall Payments goals and achieve successful launch goals.
Influences and makes decisions to ensure work is prioritized and completed in the most value added order. Partners with client facing teams, product, operations and marketing cross-functional business stakeholders to set, prioritize, and deliver shared business goals. Primary stakeholders within the domain value stream can span across multiple stakeholder organizations.
Create vision and strategies for the development of capabilities to advance GTM product support and automation including technology, access and usability of the Product Library and channel utilization.
Own commercialization and risk management processes, procedures and controls for the Product GTM function in Payment Services.
Leverages knowledge of the market to proactively identify opportunities to improve optimal user experiences and product adoption. Looks ahead to anticipate changes in marketplace, regulatory, and business needs and incorporate them into strategies. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to understand business, data, and product needs. Evaluates market and competitive trends.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
At least 8 years of Marketing experience
At least 5 years of Project Management experience
At least 3 years of experience in people leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or MBA
10+ years of Marketing experience
7+ years of Project Management experience
5+ years of experience in people leadership
Product training experience in B2B Financial Services
People leadership experience
Experience with customer onboarding
Experience in Payments industry
Experience setting and managing go to market strategies
Product Management experience
Experience communicating and collaborating across cross-functional teams
Experience with complex problem-solving and stakeholder management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $217,000 - $247,700 for Senior Director Product Strategy (GPN)McLean, VA: $238,700 - $272,400 for Senior Director Product Strategy (GPN)
Richmond, VA: $217,000 - $247,700 for Senior Director Product Strategy (GPN)
Riverwoods, IL: $217,000 - $247,700 for Senior Director Product Strategy (GPN)
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
