The Opportunity:eBay is seeking an accomplished and strategic
Senior Director, Global Benefits & Wellbeing to lead the vision, strategy, governance, design, communication, administration, and compliance of our global benefits and wellbeing programs. As a leader on the Total Rewards team, you will ensure these programs support the dynamic needs of employees around the world and strengthen eBay's ability to attract, retain, and engage top talent.
What you will do:Global Benefits Strategy & Leadership
- Set and evolve the multi-year global benefits and wellbeing strategy across 25+ countries, balancing employee experience, market competitiveness, compliance, fiscal sustainability, and operational scalability.
- Lead the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of eBay's physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing programs across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of our talent segments and dynamic workforce.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on benefits philosophy, market positioning, cost, risk, and employee impact.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and scale a high-performing global benefits team.
- Foster strong collaboration across People, Finance, Legal, IT, regional teams, and external partners to deliver scalable, employee-centered benefits solutions with measurable impact.
Program Design, Governance, and Employee Experience
- Establish and maintain a global benefits governance framework, including risk controls, audits, plan documentation, regulatory filings, data privacy, and decision forums to ensure compliant, well-governed programs across all markets.
- Define and track benefits KPIs using utilization, benchmarking, employee feedback, cost trends, and market intelligence to guide design decisions and continuous improvement.
- Own the benefits communication, education, and marketing strategy, with a focus on employee understanding, engagement, accessibility, and enablement.
- Balance global philosophy and governance with locally relevant, compliant, market-competitive solutions across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
- Lead the benefits technology roadmap in partnership with People partners, Payroll, IT Services and Solutions, external consultants, and vendors to improve automation, HRIS integration, reporting, and the employee experience while delivering operational efficiency.
- Lead benefits-related due diligence, integration planning, and execution associated with M&A activity.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Lead the U.S. and global consulting and vendor network, including program consulting, insurance brokerage, third-party administrators, and benefits communications support.
- Work with vendors, consultants, and eBay Finance partners to provide multi-year cost forecasting, scenario modeling, funding strategy, ROI evaluation, and executive-level recommendations, while also ensuring that actual expenses are within acceptable levels and reserves are adequate to cover future expenses.

- Experienced people leader with a track record of building, coaching, and scaling global or matrixed teams.
- Strong financial steward with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, funding strategies, vendor negotiations, and ROI analysis.
- Data-driven decision maker who uses benchmarking, utilization insights, dashboards, and employee feedback to guide program design.
- Technology-forward operator familiar with benefits platforms, HRIS, automation, reporting, and digital tools that improve employee experience and administrative efficiency.
- Strong project and process leader with a proven ability to deliver results through internal and external partners.
Communication & Influence
- Executive communicator with ability to translate complex technical and financial concepts into compelling business recommendations and employee-friendly communications.
- Influential cross-functional partner who builds trust, drives alignment, resolves conflict, and leads through complexity.
- Creative problem solver who brings strategic thought leadership, analytical rigor, and practical judgment to complex challenges.

Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$185,600 - $271,300
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
