Full Job Description
The Senior Director, Change Management & Value Realization leads Change Management at Echo and runs the value realization system that connects investment to impact. You will set the change and adoption strategy across Echo's technology portfolio, operate the cadence that defines, tracks, and reports value, and serve as the trusted expert for function leaders, project teams, and Finance.

The role spans two work streams, weighted toward change. Change management and adoption is the primary focus (~60%); value realization facilitation is the second (~40%) and applies to a tracked subset of qualifying initiatives. The two are paired by design: adoption is usually the precondition for realized value, and a single accountable owner keeps that thread unbroken, from before build through after launch, across Echo's technology portfolio.

Throughout this description, "the portfolio" refers to Echo's full set of technology releases and improvements.

Ownership Oversight
  • Adoption of every technology release across Echo, so new capabilities change how teams actually work, not just which tools they have
  • The value realization system that shows whether Echo's technology investment, more than $50 million annually, pays off
  • The change and adoption strategy for the portfolio, and the standards that mature the practice over time
  • The expert partnership that project teams, function leaders, and Finance rely on to define and protect value
  • The change management team, and the next generation of leaders growing within it

Duties & Responsibilities

Change Management & Adoption
  • Set and own the change and adoption strategy for the technology portfolio
  • Own adoption targets and measurement plans for each initiative, and hold owners accountable for the behaviors and usage that drive outcomes
  • Direct role based training and enablement in partnership with Learning & Development, scaling reach through a train the trainer model
  • Lead communications, executive sponsorship, and stakeholder engagement across operations, sales, technology, and training

Value Realization Facilitation
  • Run the value definition process for qualifying initiatives, aligning business, technology, and Finance on a target dollar value and a single success metric before build begins, using the standards and cadence set by the SVP and steering committee
  • Chair working level value reviews
  • Operate the value tracking and reporting cadence from before build through after launch, and surface "value at risk" (initiatives where projected benefits are slipping) to leadership
  • Prepare and present readiness recommendations to the steering committee as input to its decisions
  • Partner with Finance to validate value definitions and connect adoption to realized value
  • Drive continuous improvement of the value operating model in partnership with the SVP

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop a team of change management professionals (individual contributors)
  • Grow the next layer of leaders through coaching, clear expectations, and feedback
  • Allocate team capacity to the highest impact initiatives, consistent with the change weighted emphasis of the role
  • Raise the maturity of change and value capabilities across the organization

What Success Looks Like

  • Adoption targets are met or exceeded across the portfolio, with clear linkage to business outcomes
  • The value cadence runs reliably, and leadership trusts the visibility it provides
  • A strong bench of change and value leaders is developing under your leadership
  • Change and value practices mature measurably across the organization

What You Bring

Required
  • 8+ years in change management, including adoption or transformation work, with people leadership experience
  • A track record of setting strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes at portfolio scale
  • Hands on experience operating value or benefits measurement, tracking, and reporting
  • Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills, with executive presence
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred
  • Change management certification (Prosci/ADKAR or ACMP CCMP)

Preferred
  • Familiarity with a benefits realization framework (for example, APMG Managing Benefits or PMI benefits realization management)
  • Experience in logistics, marketplace, or operations driven environments
  • Experience partnering with Finance and steering committees
  • Experience with product and technology driven transformation
