Senior Design Engineer for a high-impact onsite opportunity supporting advanced steel structure design and engineering operations. This is a leadership-focused role for an experienced engineer who can drive technical excellence, improve processes, and help lead engineering initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
We are looking for someone who brings strong structural design expertise, proven leadership ability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
What You'll Own:- Lead design engineering efforts supporting steel structure and utility infrastructure projects.
- Oversee quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery of engineering designs.
- Partner with engineering leadership to improve processes, workflows, and technical standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality and process issues.
- Establish performance metrics, monitor team productivity, and drive operational improvements.
- Support large-scale engineering projects and process redesign initiatives.
- Lead team collaboration, technical reviews, and project execution meetings.
- Help strengthen engineering design systems, standards, and software utilization.
- Mentor and develop engineering team members through coaching and knowledge transfer.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and leadership teams to support business objectives.
What We're Looking For:- Engineering degree required (Civil or Mechanical strongly preferred).
- 5-10+ years of design engineering experience in steel structures, utility infrastructure, or related environments.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency required.
- Experience with steel utility structures, transmission design, or related structural systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design software and 3D modeling applications.
- Experience with PLS Pole software is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement and lean process methodologies.
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
