PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Data Scientist in New York, NY
Job Duties: Conduct large-scale data mining and modeling to transform raw data into actionable insights that help mitigate risk. Combine data modeling and insights to build a model and strategy that helps improve customer experience. Extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets using data-oriented programming languages such as SQL and Python. Build reports, visualize and summarize data findings, and draw interpretations for optimization of dispute processes using visualization software such as Tableau, Looker. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities for data analysis, building reports, and interpretations. Identify key metrics and drive the building of exec-facing dashboards to track the progress of the business and its highest-priority initiatives. Ensure data quality and integrity through regular audits and validation processes. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

1. Experience in using data findings and interpretations to optimize business processes (2 years).
2. Experience in extracting insights and making informed decisions using data science knowledge (2 years).
3. Experience in developing techniques using data analysis to combine business needs with data into actionable insights (2 years).
4. Experience in creating and implementing the long-term goals and business strategies for teams and organizations (2 years).
5. Experience in summarizing and visualizing data, and building reports using visualization software such as Tableau (2 years).
6. Experience in extracting and analyzing information from large structured and unstructured datasets using data-oriented programming languages such as SQL (2 years).
7. Experience in data modeling and insights to build models and strategy that help improve customer experience (2years).
8. Experience in machine learning techniques to build machine learning models (2 years).

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
New York, NY | Salary: $169,541.00-333,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
