PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design, develop and deploy distributed software systems and ensure overall quality and integrity of the system components. Lead and contribute to the full software lifecycle, system design and development of backend systems components. Build and implement automation of software testing and simulations and contribute to performance tuning, improvement, and load testing. Collaborate with product team and technical leads to identify appropriate business requirements and design high-load software solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to testing goals and principles. Provide feedback and lead code quality across Agile teams through formal and informal code reviews. Telecommuting permitted - work can be performed from anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Design and development of software applications using Java/J2EE and related frameworks
2. Design and development of Web Applications using REST
3. Development of software applications involving test planning and execution using JUnit and Selenium
4. Development of distributed web applications using Kafka
5. Development of WEB applications using cloud technologies such as AWS
6. Development of software data design and modelling using databases such as Oracle, MySql and Postgres
7. Design and development of security aspects of software applications using Oauth2
8. Configuring Containerization and monitoring of applications using Docker and Kubernetes
9. Development of WEB applications using Typescript.

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

San Jose, California | Salary: $149,365.00-198,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
