PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Data Scientist in Chicago, IL
Job Duties: Lead the development and implementation of advanced data science models. Extract, analyze, and transform data into tactical and strategic insights that address business problems and support the profitable growth of PayPal's Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) portfolio using experience with regulatory frameworks related to SMB acquisitions. Identify key business levers, establish cause-and-effect relationships, and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions. Continuously extract and analyze credit exposure data, and conduct sensitivity and A/B testing sequences to optimize risk strategies. Design visually engaging data outputs in a clear and digestible format for business leads to review. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Science, Data Science, or a closely related field such as Electrical Engineering, and 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
(1) Experience writing SQL in a professional environment. (7 years)
(2) Hands-on experience with data analysis and exploration, descriptive statistics and predictive modelling. (7 years)
(3) Experience using Python with proficiency in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or similar. (3 years)
(4) Experience working with cloud systems, AWS or Google BigQuery. (1 year)
(5) Experience in data visualizations and reporting similar to Tableau. (1 year)
(6) Experience in end-to-end machine learning model development process leveraging expertise in data science and ML such as XGBoost, Random forest or regression model (2 years)
(7) Experience in business rule analysis, tuning and recommending changes for various business channels and implementation of various business intelligence, strategies and rules through decision engine. (2 years)
(8) Experience in fraud and credit risk, with a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies. (2 years)

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
