PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Data Scientist in Chicago, IL
Job Duties: Develop and implement credit risk strategies for various products, including PayPal and Venmo credit card programs. Ensure strategies are reviewed and approved within the approved governance committee structures. Develop and automate tracking functionality that monitors volume and strategy performance. Test new data sources to enhance credit risk decisions. Provide PayPal and Venmo Card program insights via monitoring and reporting leveraging internal/external data. Employ mathematical, statistical and data mining methods to make sound decisions that balance risk and reward, user experience and financial performance. Perform operational monitoring to ensure that the strategy executions align perfectly with intents. Conduct ongoing performance reviews with senior leadership team. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Business Analytics or a closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Credit risk management / analytics in consumer lending space (4 years)
2. Predictive analytics and segmentation in consumer lending credit risk area (classification models, regression models, and statistical analysis) (4 years)
3. Experimental design (A/B testing) in consumer lending credit risk area (3 years)
4. Machine learning (model development/deployment; optimization including parameter tuning, dimension reduction, feature selection, and model validation) in consumer lending credit risk area (4 years)
5. Profit & Loss (P&L) analytics in the consumer lending area (3 years)
6. Credit bureau analytics (4 years)
7. Python (pandas, numpy, and sklearn packages) (4 years)
8. SQL tools: Google Big Query and Teradata (4 years)
9. Data visualization / Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Amplitude, and Q-monitor) (4 years)
10. Database management: Big data and cloud (Hadoop, Hive, Stampy, Teradata, and Google Big Query) (4 years)
11. Forecasting techniques/algorithms and automation with Python (4 years)

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
Chicago, IL | $142,210.00-221,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
