Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Data Architect to design and evolve the enterprise data architecture supporting Congress.gov. The Architect will define data standards, models, pipelines, and governance frameworks enabling ingestion, transformation, and delivery of large, diverse legislative datasets for congressional operations and public consumption.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Architect enterprise-wide data models, metadata structures, and governance standards.
• Design scalable ingestion, transformation, validation, and integration pipelines.
• Data modernization.
• Establish interoperability and quality frameworks across LOC data domains.
• Collaborate with SMEs, developers, DevOps, and analytics teams.
• Support modernization efforts ensuring accuracy, traceability, security, and performance.
• Produce documentation including models, dictionaries, and architectural diagrams.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture or enterprise data engineering
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines and models supporting enterprise ecosystems
• Strong understanding of metadata management, governance, and data quality frameworks
• Ability to translate mission requirements into data-centric architectural solutions
• XML, JSON, and other data formats with a focus on data modernization
• Data ingest into Solr and other search engines
• API design and operation for complex data sets

Desired Qualifications
• Experience with AWS data ecosystem (Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3, etc.)
• Familiarity with federal data governance and compliance standards
• Experience designing data solutions for large public-facing platforms
