Job SummaryTo Review, Evaluate And Develop Domestic Airport Sites For Introduction Into The Federal Express Air City System.
Position OverviewThis position serves as a key technical expert responsible for the safe and efficient design, planning, and management of aircraft ground operations and parking across the U.S. air network. Ensures our airport facilities and airfield layouts meet stringent safety standards and support dynamic operational requirements.
Essential FunctionsRamp Planning and Design: Develop conceptual aircraft parking and striping plans. This requires balancing multiple factors, including:
- Company safety requirements for personnel and assets.
- FAA airspace criteria and 14 CFR Part 139 regulations.
- Pavement limitations, aircraft fueling methods, and jet blast mitigation.
- Operational needs for cargo loading/unloading, and contingency/maintenance events.
Aircraft Gate and Striping Plan Review and Management: Review and approve CAD-based parking plans, routing them to flight, maintenance, and safety teams for implementation. Maintain master file of all aircraft parking plans.
Network and Fleet Strategy: - Evaluate new airports under consideration to determine their suitability for company operations.
- Collaborate with aircraft fleet planning to assess the impact of new aircraft types on existing ramp infrastructure.
- Analyze system-wide flight schedules to ensure adequate gate capacity and work with network planning to mitigate shortfalls.
Operational Oversight: - Monitor airfield construction projects across the network, developing mitigation plans to minimize disruptions to air operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving aircraft parking or gate striping safety issues reported by flight crews.
Minimum EducationBachelor degree/equivalent in Engineering or Aviation Management.
Minimum ExperienceSeven (7) years related experience in aviation management/planning/services or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of field/station operations.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong human relations and communication skills.
