Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data solutions for various data sets to support decision-making.
  • Apply statistical techniques to analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  • Create solutions from concept to production with moderate guidance.
  • Evaluate trends and provide actionable insights to management using existing technologies.
  • Mentor junior staff and participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Present analytical findings to management regularly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Full Job Description
  • Under moderate supervision, designs and implements processes and solutions associated with a wide variety of data sets used for data/text mining, and analysis to enable informed business decisions.
  • Gains insight into key business problems and deliverables by applying statistical analysis techniques to examine structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources.
  • With moderate direction, create solutions from initial concept to production. Communicates results to a broad range of audiences.
  • Effectively uses current and emerging technologies to evaluate trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via understanding of the business model and the information available for analysis. Typically uses data, statistical and quantitative analysis, limited modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making.
  • Mentors less senior staff.
  • Works in cross-functional projects and programs.
  • Routinely presents to management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Master's degree in information systems, computer science, or a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, operations research, economics or Finance plus 3 years of work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem-solving, operations analysis, marketing analysis, simulation development, and/or predictive analytics.
  • As an equivalent alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, operations research, economics or Finance plus 5 years of work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem-solving, operations analysis, marketing analysis, simulation development, and/or predictive analytics.


Requirements

The position requires experience with:
  • Proficiency in analytics software and applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Gain insight into key business problems and deliverables by applying analysis techniques to examine structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources.
  • Effectively communicate analytical results to a broad range of audiences, written and verbally, as well as through informal working sessions and formal presentations.
  • Proficient in quantitative and qualitative business problem-solving.
  • Develop interactive data visualizations & dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, and Spotfire.
  • Advanced querying in Teradata, Oracle, Azure environments.
  • Proficient in logistics, customer, and transactional data analytics to enable informed business decisions.
  • Related experience may offset degree requirements, and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.
  • This position is eligible for telecommuting and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories
