What you'll be doing

You'll join CIBC's Financial Crimes Technology team as a Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis, where you'll lead complex technology initiatives and design strategic solutions across multiple back-end systems aligned with CIBC's enterprise architecture roadmap. In this role, you'll support end-to-end project delivery, including technical design, integration, deployment, and the implementation of Information Security application systems. Working closely with application development, engineering, architecture, and other technical teams, you'll provide strategic advice and technical leadership to shape innovative, flexible solutions that support business objectives and deliver a best-in-class client experience. You'll interpret complex information, participate in business review sessions, influence technology decisions, and recommend new solutions to address evolving client and process needs. You'll also serve as a trusted advisor to project managers, coordinators, and directors, applying strong business and technical insight to resolve complex, ambiguous challenges with broad organizational impact. The role independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

How you'll succeed
  • Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business and technology partners to gather complex technical user stories/solution requirements (functional & non-functional) and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Solution Design - Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Leading and Mentoring - Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.


Who you are
  • You can demonstrate experience with: 5-8+ years in a BSA / BSC role leading projects and designing solutions within complex technical environments. You have a strong ability to elicit, analyze, and document business, technical, and solution requirements across the software development lifecycle using both Waterfall and Agile delivery approaches. You are comfortable working with data and back-end systems, and bring a solid technical foundation combined with the business acumen needed to understand underlying business needs and translate them into practical solutions. You also demonstrate strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to build relationships, influence discussions, and support successful delivery. In addition, you bring strong capabilities in data analysis, gap analysis, problem-solving, and organization, enabling you to manage complexity and drive effective outcomes. Agile:You must have 2+ years of experience managing the product backlog, working with Confluence and Jira, and supporting delivery within an Agile environment.
