Full Job Description
Role Summary

In this role, the Component Application Engineer will be supporting assigned tasks related to managing electronic component selection and maintenance of part library working with broader component engineering team responsible for various hardware designs for current and next generation of Rivian electric vehicles.

This role is expected to be a hybrid position with 3 days in office.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Arena Parts library maintenance from component engineering point of view.
  • Support component engineering team to implement multi-sourcing in our design, manufacturing flows
    and drive part life cycle maintenance.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Program Management teams to make sure there is alignment between
    part availability, cost, and planned build dates for HW
  • Support design engineering in the selection of electronic components for their applications
  • Generate Internal Part Numbers for new part requests for new designs in the Arena PLM database.
  • Scrub Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure compliance to application requirements (AEC-Q,
    Electrical/Mechanical, Temperature grade)
  • Manage the supply chain lifecycle for electronic components (EOL/LTB, PCNs, etc.)
  • Support supply chain during clear to build (CTB) reviews by identifying alternate components for known
    shortages
  • Contribute to overall process and workflow development between the cross functional team
  • Report weekly status to management on progress for expected deliverables and highlight risks


Qualifications
