Full Job Description
Responsibilities

  • Set-up battery cell into fixtures and test systems to conduct cell testing based on engineering direction.
  • Register and handle cells following SOP.
  • Perform daily maintenance of on-going battery lifetime testing.
  • Review cell test progress and notify cell engineers if there is an issue during the testing process.
  • Fabricate test fixtures and harnesses as directed by engineers.
  • Develop operating procedures and provide facility updates through presentations to engineering team as needed.
  • Work with laboratory equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Follow general laboratory maintenance procedures and safety practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance on cell test equipment.
  • Perform routine calibration of cell test equipment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in battery cell testing.
  • Attention to detail when handling test samples, starting new tests and troubleshooting test set-ups.
  • Strong hands-on skills and experience with light machine tools, especially for fabricating harnesses and
  • test fixtures.
  • Strong hands-on experience using multimeters, soldering iron, wire strippers, etc.
  • Proficiency in general computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Remote Desktop Connection).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting issues for tools/hardware using various protocols (Ethernet/IP, CAN).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and the ability to read wiring diagrams.
  • Basic awareness of safety protocols around high voltage equipment and lithium-ion batteries.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills when fabricating new test set-ups or troubleshooting testing issues.
  • Ability and self-motivation to work in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Nice to have:
    • Test protocol programming
    • Programming skills with Python

Pay Disclosure

The hourly range for this role is USD 37.17/hr. - 41.30/hr. for California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest hourly we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the hourly range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus.
