Sr. CAD & Engineering Documentation Specialist
Role Overview:
The Sr. CAD & Engineering Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, facility layouts, equipment drawings, and construction documentation. This role partners closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams to support plant expansion projects, process improvements, equipment installations, and regulatory compliance initiatives. The position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate engineering documentation, supporting capital projects, and maintaining compliance with engineering, safety, and regulatory standards. Success in this role requires strong technical drafting expertise, attention to detail, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
A Sample of What You’ll Do in This Role:
- Develop and maintain detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related drafting software.
- Create and revise P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, piping drawings, and facility drawings.
- Support engineering projects by converting concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate technical drawings.
- Maintain drawing standards, revision control processes, and engineering document management systems.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and plant personnel to ensure drawing accuracy and project alignment.
- Update existing drawings to reflect equipment modifications, process changes, and capital improvement projects.
- Assist with equipment specifications, material takeoffs, and project documentation.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements through drawing updates and documentation.
- Perform field verification of equipment, piping, and facility configurations.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable engineering, safety, and regulatory standards.
What You Bring to the Role:
- 3+ years of drafting, design, or engineering support experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, agriculture, industrial, or related environments
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience developing P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment layout drawings
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and drafting practices
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience supporting chemical manufacturing or industrial processing facilities
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) environments
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of piping systems, pumps, tanks, and industrial process equipment
- Experience working with engineering document control systems
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Compensation and Benefits:
- In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $100,800 - $134,420. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
- This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
