Job Description:

Participates in the development and maintenance of a business and system architecture and conducts business information flow studies. Provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals. Conducts system architecture studies of new and existing IT systems to permit development of integrated systems that operate at low cost levels. Recommends the appropriate computer platform, work stations and communication linkage required to support distributed and client server business processes and information flows. Interfaces with business areas to ensure all initiatives support business strategies and goals. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 7-10 years of systems experience.

The Business Architect within the Horizontal Product Management team participates in the development and maintenance of a business and system architecture and conducts business information flow studies. Provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals. Conducts system architecture studies of new and existing IT systems to permit development of integrated systems that operate at low cost levels. Recommends the appropriate computer platform, workstations and communication linkage required to support distributed and client server business processes and information flows. Interfaces with business areas to ensure all initiatives support business strategies and goals. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Has influence on and may direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Contributes in the creation of the architecture roadmap in support of the product roadmap. Contributes to the development of best practices including standardized templates. Works across business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for large complex solutions and evolve it based on an emerging requirements. Leads rapid shaping of a high-level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensure architecture is flexible, modular, and designed to adapt easily. Facilitates solution driven discussions, lead the design of complex architectures, and find creative solutions through their knowledge of the domain, practical experiments, and Proof of Concepts (POCs). Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel.

Required Skills:
• 5+ years relevant work experience with business and technology projects including process improvement/re-engineering and technology change efforts
• Knowledge of project tools (JIRA experience preferred)
• Responsible for maximizing the value for one or more products, at the program level in a scaled Agile model.
• Experience with and knowledge of Agile project management methodology
• Process design oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to facilitate meetings, capture key outcomes/actions and own product documentation
• Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and in Visio
• Strong decision making skills with an assertive and proactive communication style
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and active listening skills
• Must be proficient in data management to include strong data analytic capability
• Must have strong organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks
• Enthusiastic, energetic, determined and positive - especially under pressure
