The OpportunityThis role is in office in our Bethesda, MD office most days of the week.
Senior Analysts work with more senior team members in identifying, analyzing, closing, and monitoring middle market leveraged loans. Senior Analysts typically have 2-4 years of middle market leverage lending experience and have demonstrated sufficient knowledge of regulatory and risk policies. Senior Analysts are actively developing the skills required to independently close and manage leveraged loan transactions, have the capacity to engage with several projects concurrently, and operate with a high degree of autonomy in completing assigned tasks. Senior Analysts are meaningful contributors to team successes and assume increasing levels of responsibility with underwriting and managing portfolio accounts.
The Work Itself- Assist in transaction due diligence process, including review of business information, preparation of diligence requests, and participation in transaction discussions with clients
- Perform financial analysis, including interpretation of historical and projected financial information
- Prepare Excel-based, three statement financial modeling
- Assist in compiling materials for investment committee presentations at various stages of transactions for review by Ally Corporate Finance senior management
- Review work product from Analyst-level employees and provide constructive feedback to improve outputs, drive efficiencies, and facilitate growth
- Assist deal team in reviewing reporting requirements related to portfolio investments, including financial statements and other regular client reporting, as well as updating internal reporting packages to be shared with Ally Corporate Finance senior management
- Assist in ensuring investment regulatory compliance
- Assist with special projects as required to gain broader understanding of business across various functions
- Work towards building a foundation of credit knowledge, including understanding and adapting to Ally's overall credit and risk culture
The Qualifications We're Looking For- 2+ Years of banking or lending experience. Auditing, underwriting, and financial and credit analysis preferred
- BA or BS in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Completion of bank or other financial institution training program is preferred
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
- Highly analytical, detail oriented with problem solving capability
- Ability to work independently with demonstrated strong time management skills
- High level of accountability and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Highly motivated, self-starter
- Technical: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience with financial models desirable.
Minimum Qualifications- 3+ years of experience
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Base Pay Range$85,000.00 - $150,000.00
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
