Your Role at VantiveThe Sr Analyst, Indirect Tax will support and assist the Sr. Tax Manager in executing Vantive's U.S. and global indirect tax processes and strategies by focusing on compliance, audit support, tax technology, and process improvement activities. This role will serve as a key contributor in supporting sales and use tax, business licenses, unclaimed property, personal property tax, real property tax, and indirect tax automation initiatives. The position will also support indirect tax planning, compliance, and technology projects across the United States, Canada, and international jurisdictions.
As Vantive continues to build and strengthen its standalone tax function and support a growing global footprint, this role will play an important part in managing indirect tax compliance obligations, supporting tax technology initiatives, enhancing audit readiness, and driving process standardization efforts across the organization.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Finance, IT, Procurement, Billing, Operations, and external advisors to ensure tax compliance, improve data quality, support audit readiness, and optimize tax determination processes within Vertex and JD Edwards.
What You'll Be Doing- Support U.S. and Canadian indirect tax compliance activities.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready supporting documentation across indirect tax functions.
- Support indirect tax technology platforms, including Vertex and JD Edwards.
- Assist with indirect tax audits, SOX compliance requirements, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Manage exemption certificate administration and business license compliance processes.
- Support tax-related projects, integrations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation and reporting enhancements across the indirect tax function.
- Partner with the global tax team on international VAT/GST compliance and process improvement initiatives.
Indirect Tax Compliance & Strategy- Facilitate the preparation, review, and filing of U.S. and Canadian sales and use tax returns.
- Prepare and file business license applications and renewals across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage exemption certificate collection, validation, and maintenance processes.
- Assist with the preparation of personal property tax and real property tax filings, assessments, and appeals.
- Support indirect tax audits, appeals, protests, refund claims, and notice resolution.
- Assist in automating and streamlining indirect tax processes across all indirect tax functions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining indirect tax policies, procedures, and SOX controls.
- Prepare journal entries related to indirect tax activities.
- Perform periodic tax account reconciliations.
- Conduct tax data analysis to identify compliance risks and process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and organize supporting documentation across all indirect tax functions.
Global Indirect Tax Support- Support global VAT and GST compliance projects.
- Assist with indirect tax planning and process standardization initiatives.
- Coordinate with international tax teams and external advisors on global indirect tax matters.
Process Improvement & Technology- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and tax determination validation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and reporting processes.
- Assist with the maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of Vertex, JD Edwards, and other tax technology solutions.
Risk Management & Reporting- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting indirect taxes.
- Assist in preparing compliance metrics and reporting for leadership.
- Support audit readiness and compliance with internal control and SOX requirements.
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMI, or MST preferred.
- 2+ years of indirect tax experience in industry and/or public accounting.
- 2+ years of experience in U.S. indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax, property tax, business licenses, and unclaimed property.
- Exposure to international VAT/GST compliance is a plus.
- Experience with tax technology platforms such as Vertex, OneSource, and JD Edwards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and tax data analysis.

The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
