Full Job Description
As a Sr. Advisor II, Labor & Employee Relations, you'll serve as a subject-matter expert supporting the Sweeny Refinery. This role offers the opportunity to shape effective labor and employee relations practices, partner with leaders and employee representatives, and help strengthen business performance through sound, consistent people strategies.

What You'll Do
  • Lead labor relations activities for assigned operations, including negotiating, maintaining, interpreting, and administering collective bargaining agreements; serve as a primary contact for union representatives and support dispute resolution.
  • Advise regional leaders on discipline, grievances, arbitrations, policy interpretation, and other complex labor and employee relations matters, making practical recommendations that support compliance and business performance.
  • Investigate workplace concerns and policy violations by gathering, validating, and analyzing information, identifying root causes and key stakeholders, and recommending actions that address issues affecting morale, productivity, and organizational performance.
  • Coordinate investigations and responses to complaints from federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and National Labor Relations Board.
  • Draft and review grievance responses, disciplinary actions, agency submissions, procedures, and other documentation for unionized employees, applying subject-matter expertise to complex situations.
  • Build constructive working relationships with employee representative organizations and coordinate joint labor-management committees through clear, purposeful communication and sound negotiation practices.
  • Partner with HR business partners and business leaders to understand business goals, assess current processes, identify emerging needs, and align people strategies and operational HR activities to regional priorities.
  • Help develop and implement HR policies and procedures, monitor consistency and compliance, coach others on labor and employee relations practices, and contribute to special projects that advance business plans.

  • 12 or more years of experience in labor relations and/or HR management
  • Experience managing HR and labor relations issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Labor relations experience in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Supervisory experience
  • Labor negotiations experience
  • Broad HR technical expertise and systems knowledge


Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $160,200-$195,800.
