ImpactAs a Senior Accounting Manager located in Birmingham, AL or Minneapolis, MN, you will work across the business to oversee core accounting operations, ensure financial integrity, and support strategic growth across Shipt’s entire P&L. You will use data, technical expertise, and cross-functional insights to lead end-to-end accounting processes, establish best practices, and deliver accurate financial results. In this role, you will have the ability to have a positive impact across all areas of Shipt’s financial ecosystem by maintaining robust accounting controls, optimizing operational workflows, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization to deliver strategic objectives.
While no two days are the same, you will provide functional leadership, work review, and technical guidance to a team of 3 accountants supporting workstreams that drive financial accounting across Shipt’s full P&L. You will lead and drive end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Additionally, you will analyze emerging technical accounting standards, economic trends, and operational shifts to update accounting policies and build, maintain, and modernize core accounting processes, ERP systems, sub-ledger integrations, and financial reporting automation tools. Finally, as a trusted advisor to business partners, you will ensure P&L accuracy and financial transparency, support internal teams with technical and policy guidance on key initiatives, and perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- You have an undergraduate degree in Accounting.
- You have 6+ years of relevant Accounting experience and a strong understanding of GAAP.
- You have previous experience with SQL and Workday ERP.
- You have the ability to work successfully in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
- You have a curious mindset with a focus on process improvement.

Pay Range:
$75,200-$120,000

Hybrid roles in Birmingham, AL typically work in-office at least 2 days per week, with core in-office days on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Hybrid roles in San Francisco, CA typically work in-office at least 1 day per week between Monday and Thursday.
