POSITION OVERVIEW: As a
Sr. Accountant at LJA in our
Accounting department, you will be responsible for the general ledger functions of the organization, including reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:- Preparing, reviewing, and verifying the accuracy of journal entries, supporting schedules, and documentation
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the accounting system
- Analyzing inventory levels, costing, obsolescence, shrinkage, and valuation for financial reporting
- Training junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed
- Assisting with external audit requests
- Ensuring compliance with internal control guidelines.
- Performing financial variance analysis
- Assisting management with ad-hoc requests, including special projects
- Performing other related duties as required and assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP
- Must be familiar with full cycle accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Accounting experience with an emphasis on inventory or cost accounting
- Experience with an ERP system
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis tools)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, without losing attention to detail
- Requires initiative based on familiarity with the organization and accounting practices and procedures
- Adaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:- Experience with BST
- Experience with multi-company processing preferred
