Business Job Title: Senior Accounting Analyst
Job Summary:The Senior Accounting Analyst, SG&A and Capital is a key member of Broan-NuTone's US Accounting & Finance team. This role owns a meaningful portion of the company's US SG&A and capital/fixed asset activity, and is expected to operate well beyond basic transactional accounting.
This position is ideal for someone who:

Reporting to the US Controller, this role supports all US operations and works closely with the executive leadership team, functional leaders, and plant operations. While responsibilities include journal entries and reconciliations, the position encompasses analysis, bridging, and translating performance into clear insights for decision-makers.
Job Responsibilities:- SG&A Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis
- Own preparation and review of monthly SG&A reports across U.S. functions (e.g., HR, IT, Marketing, Finance, and corporate support areas).
- Prepare and distribute SG&A reporting packages to the Executive Leadership Team; ensure numbers are accurate, reasonable, and explainable before they go out.
- Provide clear variance analysis and commentary (month-over-month, budget vs. actual, and forecast vs actual).
- Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process for SG&A, partnering with functional leaders on plans, staffing, and spending assumptions.
- "Bridge" SG&A results each month, explaining the key drivers (e.g., headcount changes, timing, one-time items, productivity, business decisions).
- Capital Projects & Fixed Assets
- Support capital expenditure and fixed asset accounting for US operations, including tracking capital projects from request through capitalization.
- Review capital business cases for completeness of financial inputs and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Monitor project spend, ensure timely capitalization, and maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation.
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to understand the financial impact of capital projects and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Financial Reporting & Close
- Support an accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for SG&A and capital-related areas.
- Prepare and post a targeted set of journal entries related to SG&A, capital, and fixed assets.
- Perform account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts; ensure issues are identified, investigated, and resolved.
- Support external audit requests and provide schedules and explanations for SG&A and capital-related areas.
- Business Partnering & Executive Support
- Serve as a key business partner to US functional leaders and the Executive Leadership Team on SG&A and capital results.
- Proactively flag trends, risks, and opportunities and help leaders understand the drivers behind their numbers.
- Translate financial data into clear, concise explanations that non-finance stakeholders can understand and act on.
- Participate in and occasionally lead discussions with executives regarding SG&A performance and capital spending.
- Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
- Use corporate planning and reporting tools to validate that journal entries flow correctly to the P&L and balance sheet.
- Review results in Planful each month to confirm entries are accurate, make sense, and tie to expected outcomes
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and standardize SG&A and capital reporting processes to reduce manual work and error risk.
- Maintain documentation for key processes, controls, and reporting routines related to SG&A and capital.
Job Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Hands-on accounting (journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close).
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and comfort with P&L and balance sheet relationships.
- Analytical work (variance analysis, budgeting/forecasting, or similar).

- Demonstrated ability to bridge and explain results (e.g., "Why did SG&A move?" "Why did capital or depreciation change"?).
- Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots, basic modeling); experience with Planful or similar planning/reporting tools is a plus.
- Experience working with an ERP system; comfort learning new financial systems and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact confidently with leaders at multiple levels.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in manufacturing or a mid- to large-scale corporate environment preferred.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
