About this Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong payroll accounting background to spend approximately 50% of their time supporting payroll processing, reconciliations, and compliance as it relates to financial reporting. The remainder of the time will support payment processing backup and contract accounting analysis. This role will be responsible for ensuring payroll, benefits, taxes, garnishments, wages, and related liabilities are accurately recorded, reconciled, and cleared timely. In addition, this position will cross-train on payment processing, including wires and ACH payments, and assist with analyzing contracts in the Sage Intacct Contracts module.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and comfortable working across payroll, accounting, HR, finance, and operations teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile employee and employer payroll-related accounts.
  • Create and maintain a year-to-date wage expense schedule that ties to the payroll register.
  • Investigate and resolve variances between payroll reports, benefit invoices, tax filings, cash payments, and the general ledger.
  • Own the month-end close activities related to payroll, benefits, taxes, accrued wages, bonuses and related payroll expenses.
  • Support with commissions being coded correctly and timely. Familiarity with ASC606 commission capitalization is helpful.
  • Prepare payroll-related schedules and supporting documentation for internal review, audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
  • Crosstrain on payment processing functions, including wires & ACH payments.
  • Assist with reviewing and analyzing contracts in the Sage Intacct Contracts module, including contract values, contract lines, billing and revenue schedules, start and end dates, and related revenue recognition data.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in payroll accounting or payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes, employee deductions, employer benefits, garnishments, wage expense, and payroll liability accounts.
  • Experience reconciling payroll reports to the general ledger and bank activity.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and large data analysis.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and Rippling.
  • Understanding of payment processing controls, including wires, ACH payments, approvals, and segregation of duties, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to research and resolve complex reconciliation differences.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a multi-entity environment.
  • Familiarity with payroll accounting for U.S. and Canadian payrolls.
  • Experience with Rippling and Sage Intacct, including the Contracts module.
  • Experience with payment processing, treasury support, wires, ACH payments, or banking platforms.
  • Experience with month-end close, audit support, contract review, and payroll compliance.
  • Ability to document processes, cross-train on key accounting functions, and improve reconciliation procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $80,000 to $95,000.

This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
