Though this role is remote, we require candidates to be local to ArizonaWe are seeking a Database Administrator Lead Consultant to provide "hands on" technical leadership across our enterprise database platforms, ensuring they remain secure, reliable, scalable, and high performing.

What You'll DoOwn the administration, performance, availability, and security of mission-critical database environments while partnering closely with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
- Lead administration and support of enterprise database platforms including SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Manage database installations, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
- Monitor platform health and proactively optimize performance, reliability, and availability.
- Drive incident resolution, problem management, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including backup, recovery, replication, and failover capabilities.
- Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to design and optimize database architectures.
- Strengthen database security, access controls, and governance practices.
- Develop automation, monitoring solutions, and operational processes that improve scalability and efficiency.
- Support cloud and platform modernization efforts as part of our evolving data strategy.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance on database best practices and performance optimization.
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED
- 8+ years of progressive database administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- 2+ years of hands-on DBA experience with MongoDB, MySQL (or) MariaDB.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.
- Curiosity to learn and adapt in a fast-moving technology environment.
Technical Skill Set: Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including:- SSMS
- Always On Availability Groups (AOAG)
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Security and encryption
- Partitioning
- SSIS and SSRS
- Data synchronization technologies
Experience with:- SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
- SQL automation and deployment strategies
- PowerShell (preferred)
- Windows and SQL administration utilities
MongoDB experience , including:- Production upgrades
- Replica set deployment and administration
- Percona MongoDB and monitoring tools (PMM)
MySQL/MariaDB administration experience, including:- Production upgrades
- Replication and replica set configuration
- Enterprise platform support

Compensation: The a
nnual salary offered will be in the range of
$140,000- $160,000. Please ignore the range given below as that constitutes the entirety of the job profile range.
Annual Bonus: Eligible, and up to 20% of base salary

CompensationCompensation offered for this role is 98,100.00 - 167,850.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment: Except for our Customer Care roles which necessitates onsite work, most other roles are remote. AIP is a remote-first company; however, our roles are open to in-office or flex work if you live in a city with a physical office location
Physical Demands: We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings and office collaboration tools. Employees will have to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery, as necessary. Employees must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
