Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent required.
• Registered with CASLPO for practice.
• Preferred experience in a hospital environment.
• Strong professional knowledge in clinical settings.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication.
• Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion in health practices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care in line with policies and procedures.
• Assess and manage patients with acute needs in various medical departments.
• Provide care for adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in acute settings.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare interdisciplinary team.
• Document patient assessments and progress according to standards.
• Participate in discharge planning with multidisciplinary team members.
• Record workload measurement data accurately and promptly.
• Consult with other disciplines within the physical medicine area.
• Supervise Speech-Language Pathology students in clinical settings.
• Provide coverage across multiple facilities as needed.
