Summary:
The Home Care SLP supports MaineHealth Care at Home's (MHCAH) mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family centered care, commitment to our community, and accountability. In accordance with national standards of practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both MHCAH and the Maine State Board of Licensure, the Home Care SLP provides highly reliable, evidenced based, patient-family centered quality care through assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of care provided.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master of Arts, Science, or Education degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program with all requirements met for engagement in Clinical Fellowship Year. Demonstration of successful completion of certifying examination (ASHA).
  2. License/Certifications: State of Maine licensure as Speech Language Pathologist. Current, valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle, with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy. Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers.
  3. Experience: One year of full time equivalent experience in a supervised health care setting preferred.
  4. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families and health care team members.
  5. Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action.


Additional Information

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
