Job Description:

As the Specialist Shutdown Coordinator, you will oversee facility-related activities and projects during shutdowns, ensuring safety, budget compliance, and timeliness. They coordinate planning, scheduling, and vendor activities across departments, monitoring maintenance, validation, and quality tasks to address any issues promptly. Additionally, they conduct compliance and safety audits and ensure timely documentation, all while adhering to department goals, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Takes full ownership of the end-to-end process, ensuring execution and accountability across at every stage.
  • Ensures that all relevant staff and departments are informed of construction and maintenance activities, maintaining clear communication regarding the status of utility shutdowns.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance Leadership Team, Validation, Quality, and Operations to develop a comprehensive shutdown schedule using Microsoft Project or similar software, enabling thorough tracking of outages, documentation execution, and shutdown closeout activities.
  • Creates and oversees a shutdown planning action list, ensuring its timely execution.
  • Manages relationships effectively with key stakeholders, including Maintenance and Production Team Leaders, Reliability Coordinators, and Operations Leadership.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and purchasing policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Evaluates and challenges the asset planning and coordination strategy before and during shutdowns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of experience, preferably in engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills.
  • Comprehensive background in cGMP principles and concepts.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and general familiarity with Windows. SAP experience is a plus.
  • Expert understanding of regulations governing supported processes and systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members at all levels, vendors, and departmental stakeholders involved in the shutdown process.
  • Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capacity to quickly identify and address issues that arise during shutdown activities, making timely decisions to ensure the smooth progression of the shutdown process.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a high level of personal and departmental accountability and responsibility.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to make informed decisions regarding quality and compliance-related matters with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and ensure that shutdown activities stay on schedule.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move around the manufacturing facility to oversee shutdown activities, inspect equipment, and communicate with team members.

  • Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $77,000 to $98,000, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 15 paid holidays per year. Work Location:

This position is classified as a hybrid role, requiring onsite work at the Parsippany office four days per week and remotely for one day per week.
