What to Expect

As an Electrical Specialist, you will be the go-to resource for technical guidance and hands-on support, ensuring our electrical systems operate safely and efficiently every day. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by supporting critical operations and contributing to a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Independently support and optimize the maintenance and reliability of complex electrical systems across the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenging equipment issues, lead major repairs and installations, and develop programs to enhance performance and safety.
  • Plan and prioritize work schedules, guide operational improvements, and ensure all activities meet rigorous quality and safety standards.
  • Review equipment designs, manage the implementation of new systems, and provide technical support to engineering and operations teams.
  • Mentor team members, share expertise, and drive initiatives that strengthen mechanical integrity and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze data to identify trends and root causes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Deliver clear communication and actionable insights to help the organization achieve its goals while maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment.

  • Proficient in reading electrical prints and identifying components on electrical drawings
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 5%
    • Operate company vehicle on site premises and / or public roads up to 50%
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
    • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
    • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
    • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
    • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)


What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Electrical through design and field Plant reliability and maintenance experience - good knowledge of reliability principles and processes
  • 1 or more years of basic supervisory or mentoring experience
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical NFPA 70 and 70E
  • Ability to influence operations, maintenance and project personnel
  • Good communication skills
  • Takes ownership of problems, drives solutions and delivers on commitments
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (SAP) system, specifically provide guidance on manpower and cost during planning, create repair notifications as needed, review invoices, update schedule
  • Committed to continuous improvement. Encourages creativity and innovation
  • Understands and uses functional expertise to contribute to the success of the business
  • Has the ability and courage to surface and resolve conflicts or issues in a timely manner
  • Possesses strong leadership and drives company core values, specifically safety and reliability
  • Able to guide and influence others to troubleshoot and complete tasks and therefore improve the knowledge of the craftsmen


Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $127,800 - $156,200.

The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
