Full Job Description
Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software for the control of production machines taking into account requirements and realization possibilities.
  • Design and develop embedded systems and control software for production equipment.
  • Analyze technical requirements and specifications to create efficient designs.
  • Conduct testing and validation of electrical designs to ensure functionality.
  • Propose improvements in the context of new market developments and test whether these can be beneficial for the company.
  • Cooperate with Engineers or Professionals of other disciplines to coordinate software interfaces.
  • Primary role of software development includes Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal & Step7, & Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Additional software development in the fields of Industrial Robotics, including KUKA, Staubli, Fanuc Robots - Collaborative robots including Universal Robotics.
  • Additional software development includes the design and implementation of Vision Systems and Measurement instrument processes and technologies, and manufacturing execution system (MES) process recording and traceability systems.
  • Hardware integration with Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), servo drive systems, industrial networking (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet, etc.), proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controls, power distribution systems, etc.
  • Implementation of Safety controls programs and required acceptance documentation.
  • Travel to various sites for training, customer service, and support, travel requirements dependent on needs.


Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and extensive industrial experience in electronics engineering, software engineering, or controls engineering.
  • Experience creating and commissioning industrial machinery control programs using Siemens Step7 and TIA Portal Engineering Software Applications.
  • Strong knowledge of systems integration strategies, concepts, and techniques.
  • Knowledge and skills in design of custom equipment for manufacturing including assembly, inspection, process control, etc.
  • Knowledge of Risk Level Assessment, codes, and regulations for industrial equipment safety.
  • Advanced communication, planning, and documentation skills utilizing both verbal and written communication, documented using Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience presenting and solving engineering problems.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.
