Job Description

Therapy Source is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to provide in-person services for charter high school students ages 15-22. This position is for the upcoming year.

Special Education Teacher Salary Range: $44-$45 per hour

Special Education Teacher Position Details:

  • School hours are 7:45am - 1:00pm Monday - Friday, but after-hours help available until 3pm
  • Year-round position except for about 3.5 weeks (the last week of June to mid July is a break)


Special Education Teacher Qualification(s):

  • Must have license in the state of Michigan
  • Must have school certification in the state of Michigan
  • Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances
  • Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)


Special Education Teacher Responsibilities May Include:

  • Implementing specially designed instruction to drive student achievement
  • Conducting progress monitoring data and adjusting instruction based on the data
  • Establishing a positive, structured, achievement-focused classroom
  • Providing support to students, parents, and general education staff and supporting student learning
  • Mentoring and coaching students on self-regulation and organizational skills
  • Developing effective IEPs that translate into measurable results for students
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings
