About the RoleHello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring an Affective Needs Special Education Teacher to support students near Carbondale, CO for the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, you'll provide individualized instruction and meaningful behavioral and social-emotional support while helping students build the skills they need to succeed both academically and personally.
This is a great opportunity for a Special Education Teacher who enjoys supporting students with affective, behavioral, and emotional needs and is passionate about creating a positive, structured environment where students can thrive. You'll work closely with school staff and a collaborative, therapist-run team dedicated to individualized student support and your professional success.
What You'll Do- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
- Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects
- Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
- Incorporate technology and resources to enhance learning
What We're Looking For- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Fingerprinting through OSPI
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- School-based experience preferred, not required
Benefits apply to 0.8 FTE and above after a short waiting period.
