Full Job Description
Position: SOVT Documentation Engineer
Level: Junior to Mid

Location: Newport, RI

Telework: Hybrid remote/onsite, with typical set schedule at Government facility

Salary: $82k-$111.5k

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Submarine Onboard Verification Test (SOVT) Documentation Engineer to support submarine network modernization efforts. In this role, you will develop and update SOVT documentation for submarine network systems using NAVWAR digital test tools. You will also modify the documentation for specific platform and boat configurations and incorporate software and hardware updates as required.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and update SOVT documentation based on verification test requirements and Government Furnished Information.
  • Modify documentation for platform-specific and boat-specific configurations to accurately reflect each submarine's unique setup.
  • Use NAVWAR digital tools (TEDI and TNAS) to efficiently create, edit, and maintain SOVT documentation.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements to testing procedures throughout the SOVT documentation packages.
  • Support approval cycles by preparing documentation for Government review and incorporating feedback as needed.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of SOVT documentation experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI access and work in classified environments including SIPRNet and NATO systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in PowerShell, RHEL, Windows Server, Windows Client, VMWare, Ansible, Cisco, Trellix, Aruba, Cloud computing, CMPro, SMART and JIRA
