Full Job Description

The Sourcing Specialist will provide on-site procurement support to manufacturing and operations teams the Aerospace Transparency facilities in Sylmar, CA and Grand Prairie, TX by assisting with sourcing activities, supplier communications, RFQs, and supply chain issue resolution.You'll work closely with procurement leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement of services, equipment, and materials needed to support plant operations.

This role reports to the Sourcing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Activities

  • Support day-to-day purchasing and sourcing activities for operational and maintenance requirements.

  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers.

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize supplier quotations for review by procurement leadership.

  • Assist in creating and managing purchase orders for services and equipment.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

Supplier Coordination

  • Support supplier negotiations by gathering market information, pricing data, and supplier proposals.

  • Assist in maintaining positive supplier relationships and resolving routine supplier issues.

  • Monitor supplier performance and communicate concerns to procurement management.

Contract and Commercial Support

  • Assist with the preparation, review, and administration of service and equipment agreements.

  • Coordinate internal approval workflows for contracts and purchase requests.

  • Maintain procurement and contract documentation in company systems.

  • Support contract renewal and supplier onboarding activities.

Supply Chain and Operations Support

  • Help resolve supply and delivery issues affecting plant operations.

  • Escalate critical shortages or supplier performance concerns to senior procurement personnel.

  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and Receiving teams to ensure materials and services are available to support production schedules and business needs.

  • Support efforts to minimize disruptions and improve supply reliability.

Reporting and Process Improvement

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.

  • Track sourcing activities, savings opportunities, and procurement metrics.

  • Assist with supplier spend analysis and reporting.

  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, operations, or related business functions; Internship or co-op experience in procurement, manufacturing, or supply chain will also be considered.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous.

  • Basic understanding of purchasing and supplier management principles.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Experience with QAD or other ERP systems is preferred.

  • Some travel may be required (up to 10%).

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
