Full Job Description
The Zaxby's Support Center is looking for a Sourcing Manager to join the Supply Chain team. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy to maintain the highest quality products at the lowest total cost in use; and will negotiate directly with manufacturers, developing pricing programs and supply plans to ensure product needs are met. This position works cross functionally with the Quality Assurance, Distribution & Logistics, and external departments to provide support, reporting, and resolution of supplier inventory challenges and product withdrawals. The Sourcing Manager has a solid understanding of supply/demand fundamentals and shifts in market dynamics; will identify opportunities to improve and optimize buying strategies; and provide regular updates and develop communication for franchisees around market conditions and price changes.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA area and allows for a hybrid work schedule that includes 3 in-office days per week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct the RFP process, bid analysis and review, contract negotiations, and blanket purchase agreement creation for category
  • Develop/execute purchasing strategies for products including monitoring macro trends in supplier base trend analysis and proactive response planning.
  • Identify and realize cost-savings and cost-reduction opportunities within owned categories
  • Evaluate potential margin initiatives, document with business case and champion change in support of department/company initiatives
  • Identify supply and supplier issues; analyzes information to assess root cause, improvement opportunities, and associated risk
  • Develop solutions and gain consensus to resolve supply issues
  • Monitors supplier performance and completes supplier scorecard
  • Support Marketing, Sales and Operations in product changes by meeting implementation deadlines and minimizing material write-offs
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, excellent product quality, continuous improvement for cost reductions and improving lead times
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to supply product in accordance with the organization's requirements like quality, contract compliance, and accuracy among others
  • Work with other parts of the company to determine volume needs or consumer preference
  • Assist Quality Assurance with product recalls/withdrawals and communication about replenishment of product
  • Recognize and communicate supply availability or issues as they occur and/or anticipate fluctuation in demand, geo-political factors and market strategy
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish established goals
  • Resolve distribution and vendor issues, ensuring continuous supply of product to the restaurants
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, providing strategic recommendations for sourcing optimization. Develop and maintain positive relationship with Franchisees, ZFL and Operations by becoming a knowledgeable, service oriented, responsive purchasing resource for the brand
  • Preferred experience in the bakery or produce categories.
  • Support the culinary team with LTO (limited time offer) needs/ product development

  • A track record of building positive and respected relationships with team members, other functional departments, supplier and distributor communities
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another
  • Self-motivated, articulated, resourceful, persistent and conscientious
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Extensive capabilities to perform research and strategic thinking
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal forms with tact, patience and courtesy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other business related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience with Foodservice Supply Chain, or similar technical background; knowledge of Foodservice Manufacturing preferred; knowledge and experience in the ArrowStream software preferred
