Responsibilities:

  • Essential: Configures, sustains, troubleshoots, and assists repairs to complex electro-mechanical equipment, programmable logic controllers, and machinery. Maintenance and installation activities are limited, however, a very strong ability to troubleshoot, configure, and sustain the systems is essential.
  • Respond and resolve reliability issues that affect controls systems and show quality of all characters and effects in a timely manner.
  • Communicate accurately and in a timely manner, matters that pertain to the operational status/readiness of all attractions and show venues.
  • Assess and then clearly communicate objectives and direction to other technicians, while troubleshooting and relaying status information to direct management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Support requests of all operating groups/departments within USH in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all EHS and Standard Operating Procedures within Attraction Services and USH at large
  • Ensure that all sustaining work, inclusive of attraction downtime response and design optimizations, is properly documented.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes, which enhance system efficiencies and increase productivity.
  • Promote and provide extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests.
  • Maintain proficiency in all areas as it pertains to his/her area(s) of responsibilities assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


General Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Associate degree (AA) from a two-year college/technical school in applicable discipline(s) or equivalent experience
  • Ability & willingness to work a variety of schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays with short notice.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to incidents in locations requiring climbing, fall-protection, and other non-traditional work-environments.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written on a technical level.
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong team player that is focused on the success of the team
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Requires moderate to heavy physical exertion
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, etc. for extended periods of time.


Technical Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Possess knowledge of electrical/electronics components and systems, sound/video systems, projection systems, mechanical/ structural components, programmable logic controllers (PLC) and software, inventory control inspection, quality control procedures.
  • Understanding or awareness of software and coding, such as ladder logic, structured text, sequential function chart, function block diagram, and other text/scripting-based coding languages.
  • Understanding of audio, video, lighting, and show control software and graphical user interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint


Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Experienced in design and technical blueprints/computer aided drafting for all the disciplines listed above.
  • Understanding or awareness of motor control and drives systems or concepts, such as variable frequency drives/controllers.
  • Understanding or awareness of closed-loop motion/servo control systems or concepts.
  • Understanding or awareness of process control systems or concepts.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to co-workers. Strong team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure; proactive thinker/self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible is essential.
