Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is hiring a Solutions Architect to support our Business Development Team in our Lexington Park, MD office with a hybrid schedule. The Solutions Architect will serve as a key member of the Business Development team, responsible for developing innovative, compliant, and competitive technical solutions for government contracts. This role bridges customer requirements, operational capabilities, and technical expertise to create winning solutions that align with client missions and organizational growth objectives. The Solutions Architect partners closely with Business Development, Capture Management, Proposal Teams, Program Management, and Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and articulate differentiated solutions throughout the opportunity lifecycle; from qualification and capture through proposal submission and transition to execution. The selected candidate will specialize in enabling customer's digital journey, defining solutions for software, systems engineering, digital engineering and advanced communications. The successful candidate will contribute to increased proposal win rates, develop differentiated and executable technical solutions, strengthen customer confidence, and support the organization's growth objectives across government markets.

The candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

Solutions Development:
  • Lead the development of technical and operational solutions for government solicitations, including Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
  • Analyze solicitation requirements, Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and evaluation criteria to develop compliant and competitive solutions.
  • Design scalable, cost-effective, and innovative approaches that leverage corporate capabilities, partner strengths, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop solution architectures, staffing models, service delivery frameworks, transition plans, and technical narratives.

Business Development Support:
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Capture Managers to identify customer needs, mission challenges, and competitive positioning strategies that are applicable across opportunity campaigns
  • Participate in customer engagements, industry days, technical exchanges, and capture planning activities.
  • Support opportunity qualification, bid/no-bid decisions, and competitive assessments.
  • Contribute to win themes, discriminators, and value propositions that strengthen proposal competitiveness.

Proposal Development:
  • Serve as a lead technical contributor during proposal development efforts.
  • Author and review technical, management, and transition volumes.
  • Create solution diagrams, architecture illustrations, workflows, and operational concepts.
  • Support proposal color team reviews and address reviewer feedback.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, executable, and compliant.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with Operations Leaders, and Technical SMEs to validate solution feasibility and resource requirements.
  • Work with subcontractors and teaming partners to integrate capabilities into overall solution designs.
  • Facilitate solution workshops and strategy sessions across internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Leadership:
  • Maintain awareness of federal acquisition trends, customer priorities, and emerging technologies relevant to target markets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve solution development processes, reusable content, and technical assets.
  • Support development of corporate capabilities, past performance references, and technical differentiators.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in government contracting, systems engineering, solution architecture, technical program management, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal government capture and proposal efforts.
  • Strong understanding of government acquisition processes and contract vehicles.
  • Experience developing solutions for one or more areas including:
    • Information Technology Services
    • Cybersecurity
    • Cloud Solutions
    • Systems Engineering
    • Enterprise Operations
    • Digital Transformation
    • Professional Services
    • Advanced Communications Technologies
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting large-scale federal proposals valued at $50M+.
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • TOGAF
    • PMP
    • CISSP
    • ITIL
  • Active Top Secret security clearance is highly desired.

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $210,000.00 - $270,000.00
